Flooded With Cash

  • Original Writing
Flooded with cash
Like a dream vacation
A flurry impulse escape
From that discomfort sensation
That desert home sand
That barren purpose land
Sitting beneath
Where your empty home stands
alone
hot
no fan
bland

Flooded with cash
Escape to the senses
Power like orchestra
Conductor of pleasures
Obedient servants
Desperate for riches
Blow, bang, and strum
Ripping desire from stitches
Suck the sound from the beggars
The poor and the liars
As long as that money is
Fast, flush and wired

But be warned of the dangers
That pure pleasure acquires
Returns, they diminish
A descent to cactus pliers
Pinching and twisting
Resisting desperate wishing
Doubling down on
quenched thirst desires

One day you’ll learn
A lesson as old
As testaments or gold
Can’t run from it
Or defeat it
Cash Power
is worthless
It only neglects it
It
It
It
What the fuck is it?

The well, it runs dry
No money can buy it
No will can
Refill it
Replay it
Or return it
To its original
Surge newness

Novelty pleasures
Chasing the higher
Folly attempts
As the lows become lower

Drowned in the dryness
Of scorched dollars for hire
The sprint for pleasure
was power
More power
My power
Now power
Need power

Eternal law of gravity
Defied for a moment
It felt like a victory
But the road stretches longer
It loops back to fire
The ruin
The ashes
The sorrow
All screaming together
The haunt of
yesterday’s choir

You thought you outran
karma’s quick paced madman
With your floods of fat cash
The whips of backlash
But it’s time to meet fate
Two paths today
Are your only escape

Insanity or death
It’s Multiple choice

A or B

Yes, maybe a C

But you’re too blind
to believe
repent
And redeem
To sacrifice and see
With all that kick and that scream
Those fists so fearfully
clinching to green
