Riddle

Have faith
Believe
Say prayers on your knees
Bend truth as you knead
Unbearable loss
Life’s cruel realities
Give credit for the good
Shape excuses for the
Blood drained
From innocence
Rocking beats and strings
Choruses of entertaining praise
Another year it rings—
Mind body spirit
Inexplicably maimed
Enflamed twisted and deranged
Blind lost and chained
To the chameleon maze
Reduced to infinite pain
Begging for answers
Echoed desperation
Is all that remains
Get up
Let go
Release the grip of shame
That childish blame game
Watching flame after flame
Destroy more than what it
Came to reign
Making sane less sane—
Like fame
Or material gain after gain
We love
We feel
Our hearts will melt like steel
Our faith can remold the
Liquid remains
Into whoever
We wish to regain
It makes no sense until it does
We are alone but not alone
We are separated but one
Human
We live We die
We laugh We cry
It’s hard but like any game
Or enigma
Conundrum of pain
It was all worth it when we
Solve that riddle
We celebrate the
End of the game
